Google user data in SEO OS
Last updated: 5 November 2026. This page is part of the privacy policy of sergiruiz.es (in Spanish) and is the page linked from the Google authorisation screen of the "SEO OS" application.
What SEO OS is and how it accesses Google
SEO OS is a program that the User installs and runs on their own computer, inside an artificial intelligence agent the User has their own subscription to (Claude Code, by Anthropic, or Codex, by OpenAI). The agent runs the SEO OS scripts; SEO OS is not a cloud service and has no user accounts.
To analyse the Google presence of the User's business, SEO OS can connect to four Google services through Google's authorisation system (OAuth). The connection requests the four permissions on a single screen, where Google lists them one by one and the User decides which ones to grant; the User can also connect each service separately with a single permission.
What Google data is accessed
- Google Search Console (
webmasters.readonlyscope, read-only): clicks, impressions, search queries, pages and indexing status of the User's verified websites. - Google Analytics (
analytics.readonlyscope, read-only): sessions, conversions, channels and landing pages of the User's GA4 properties, and the list of their accounts and properties so they can choose which one to connect. - Google Business Profile (
business.managescope; this API offers no read-only scope): performance metrics (searches, views, actions) and reviews of the locations the User manages. The only write operation in SEO OS is publishing a reply to a review, and only after the User has read and approved it. SEO OS does not modify the location's data. - Google Ads (
adwordsscope; the API offers no narrower one): campaigns, search terms, clicks and cost of the User's accounts. SEO OS only reads; it does not create, modify or pause anything in the account.
SEO OS does not access any other data in the User's Google account: no email, no contacts, no files, no spreadsheets, no calendar.
What the data is used for
Only for features the User sees and asks for: detecting ranking drops and opportunities, relating organic traffic to business results, tracking the performance and reviews of their locations, and avoiding overlap between paid and organic searches. The data is not used for advertising, for profiling, for sale or for any purpose unrelated to those features.
Where it is processed and who it is shared with
The data is downloaded and processed on the User's computer, in the SEO OS working folder.
The artificial intelligence agent the User works with reads that data to analyse it and reply to them. That agent runs on the account and plan the User has contracted directly with Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI (Codex), under that provider's terms and privacy policy; Web Lab Factory SL is not part of that relationship, has no access to those conversations and does not send any Google data to any artificial intelligence provider on its own. The consumer plans of these providers may use conversations to train their models unless the User turns that off; SEO OS recommends that the User disable that option in the privacy settings of their Claude or ChatGPT account, and the installation guide explains how.
When the User uses the assisted connection in SEO OS, which avoids having to create their own Google Cloud project, the access credentials (tokens) for Google Business Profile and Google Ads are stored encrypted on a server operated by Web Lab Factory SL and are used solely to serve that User's own requests; Web Lab Factory SL does not access them or the data obtained with them.
Beyond the above, Web Lab Factory SL does not share, transfer or sell the User's Google data to anyone.
How it is protected
The credentials issued by Google are stored on the User's computer, in the SEO OS configuration folder, readable only by their system user. Those of the assisted connection are stored encrypted at rest on the Web Lab Factory SL server, are always transmitted over HTTPS and are used only by the service that handles the User's requests. The people who work with Web Lab Factory SL do not read the User's Google data, unless the User expressly asks for it to resolve an incident or when the law requires it.
How long it is kept and how to delete it
Web Lab Factory SL does not store the data obtained from Google on its servers. On the User's computer, the downloaded data is kept for as long as the User wants: it can be deleted at any time by removing the SEO OS working folder. The assisted connection credentials are deleted from the Web Lab Factory SL server as soon as the User revokes access or requests it by email at sergi@sergiruiz.es, within a maximum of 30 days.
Limited Use
SEO OS's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. SEO OS does not use the User's Google data to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence models, nor does it transfer it to third parties for that purpose.
How to revoke access
The User can revoke access at any time from the permissions page of their Google account (myaccount.google.com/permissions) or by deleting the credentials from the SEO OS configuration folder. Once access is revoked, the program can no longer query that data.
